She was speaking during a Moyle Council debate about waste recycling for books, CDs and mobile phones..

Under the scheme collection units would be put in place at Carneatly Amenity Site near Ballycastle and at Sheskburn House in the town.

Sinn Fein councillor Cathal Newcombe said charity shops also accept old mobile phones.
It currently costs councils 96 for each tonne of waste dumped in landfill sites.
