Andrew McCubbin Precpt, Registrar conducted the evening’s programme and led in the opening prayer. Laura accompanied by Rachel, sang her first solo, William Anderson (Precept Lay Chaplin) read the first reading and following this ‘Away in a manger’ was sang by everyone. Second reading was by Ronald Hynman (Member of Committee).
At this stage Lisa gave a comprehensive explanation on the workings of Macmillan Cancer and how it helps those suffering from cancer and the carer’s and family involvement. A collection was taken up to help with this important issue. Whilst this offering was being lifted Rachel and Alexander played some lovely seasonal music. This was followed by another solo from Laura. Pastor McCubbin then gave an enlightening and uplifting address with the main theme being ‘Hope’, very appropriate after what Lisa had just been talking about. The age old carol ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ brought the service to a close.
Pastor McCubbin then pronounced the Benediction and said Grace for the food about to be served.
