Car catches fire just yards from children's play park in Ratheen
Firefighters were called out to douse the “well alight” vehicle just after 5pm.
It is thought that the cause of the blaze was accidental.
A spokesperson for Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service said: “Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) received a call at 5.16pm to a report of a car on fire at the Ratheen Avenue area of Cookstown yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, May 24).

Hide Ad“One Fire Appliance from Cookstown Fire Station was deployed to a car well alight in the area. Firefighters using a hosereel jet dealt with the fire.
“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service finished at the scene at 5.29pm and the fire is being treated as accidental.”
