BREAKING NEWS - Chemical barrel washed ashore at Runkerry
There was an incident at Runkerry Beach on Sunday afternoon when a 40 gallon barrel was washed ashore.
Emergency services including specialist firefighters from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and HM Coastguard attended the beach which was sealed off for some time.
PSNI Inspector David McCausland said: “Following the discovery of a barrel on Runkerry Beach, Bushmills earlier today, which is believed to contain chemicals, Police are advising members of the public if they come across any other containers they should not touch it or move it, but should phone the Police, Coastguard or Fire Brigade immediately.”
