Bobby honoured for his services to sport
Lisburn Rugby Club and Lisburn Golf Club described the Old Hillsborough Road man as a ‘great embassador to local sport.’
Bobby, was recognised for his work in the community, particularly youth sports.

Hide AdHe has been involved with Lisburn Rugby Club for 50 years, including two years as club president.
He was also a member of the Ulster Society of Rugby Referees, he later became a referee assessor. He is honorary secretary of Sport Lisburn, which promotes sport and recognises achievement across the district.
Mr Watson said: “It was a lovely surprise to receive this medal. The first I knew about it was when I received a letter about six weeks ago.
“It is very nice to be recognised in this way.”
On the Lisburn Rugby Club Facebook page, Denise Watson said, “@lisburnrugby: Congratulations to our own Bobby Watson on his BEM for services to rugby and local sport #HonoursList” Woo hoo wee Bobby!!”

Hide AdIn another comment from Ulster Rugby Referees, they stated, “Congratulations USRFR’s Bobby Watson on his BEM for services to rugby and local sport.”
On the Lisburn Golf Club website, it stated, “The Club would like to Congratulate Mr RE Watson (Bobby Watson) for being honoured for his services to Local Sport.
“Although most recognition is for his work with Rugby, Bobby has also worked voluntarily with the Juvenile section of the Golf Club from 1992.
“A great ambassador for local sport so congratulations again on your achievement ‘very well deserved’.”
