Birthday wishes for founding member of local charity
A lifelong resident of Waringstown Walter, alongside his late wife Josie, were founding members of Kidney Research and across the decades since have raised millions of pounds for lifesaving research into kidney disease.
Walter celebrated his Birthday in Iveagh House, Banbridge, and received a special visit from local MLA Jo-Anne Dobson.

Hide AdMrs Dobson said: “Walter is a true inspiration and someone who never stops thinking of others.
“It was lovely to call in and spend time Walter and the residents and staff of Iveagh House as they celebrated his 90th birthday in style!
“The charity which he co-founded back in 1971 has saved countless lives and for decades Walter has been the driving force behind the annual Waringstown vintage cavalcade which raises tens of thousands of pounds for it’s vital research and treatment of kidney disease.
“I send my warm birthday wishes to Walter and good wishes to all the residents and staff at Iveagh House.”
