Bilingual surveys in the Glens
A Moyle council report said: ‘Surveys of residents have now been carried out for the following roads/streets following requests for bilingual signs in English/Irish to be erected.
‘From the responses received the results are as follows: Layde Road, Cushendall - number of respondents 26 - Percentage (of respondents) in favour, 88%; Prospect Court, Cushendall - respondents - five, in favour, 100%; Glenview Park, Cushendun - respondents five, in favour, 100%; Middlepark Crescent, Cushendall - respondents - 17, in favour, 65%; Dalriada Crescent, Cushendall - respondents - 12, in favour, 100%; Maud Cottages, Cushendun - respondents two, in favour, 100%; Riverside Close, Cushendall - respondents seven, in favour 100%; The Bay Apartments, Cushendun - respondents’ 33, in favour, 55%.

Hide Ad‘In compliance with the Council’s Street Naming and Numbering Policy, it is recommended that the Council proceed with the erection of additional name plates for those road/streets where more than thirds (66.66 per cent) of respondents were in favour of the proposal.
‘The Irish language translations obtained for these roads are as follows:- Layde Road-Bothar Leithid; Prospect Court-Cuirt na Radharc; Glenview Park- Pairc Radharc an Ghleanna; Dalriada Crescent-Corran Dhal Riada; Maud Cottages- Iostain Mhada; Riverside Close- Clos Chois Abhann.
