Ballymoney laces up to Join Together for cancer charity
The hugely popular event is in its sixth year and will again take place at Riverside Park.
A number of familiar faces will again be on hand to lend their support including Coleraine FC boss Oran Kearney who has supported the event since its inception.

Hide AdOran will be joined by some of his players and other clubs will also take part including Glebe Rangers, Ballymoney Rugby Club, Springwell Running Club and Balnamore Football Club.
Among the rugby contingent will be members of the ladies team and Ballymoney’s Russell Blair who was recently named the Calor Gas Ulster Youth Player of the Year.
Ballymoney Independent councillor Roma McAfee - who is also taking part - praised those behind the event.
“I think it’s great for two reasons,” she said.
“Firstly the exercise element that is good for people’s health and can ultimately help combat cancer and other chronic diseases and secondly it’s about raising money for a good cause.

Hide Ad“As many people know when I was 10 I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia so any charity that works to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer is a worthy one in my eyes.
“Myself, my husband Iain and two children will be taking part. The good thing about the event is that there’s something for the whole family regardless of ability.”
The kids run starts at 6.30pm followed by the 5k run at 7pm.
The fun run starts at 7.30pm. Jog it or walk it, the choice is yours.

Hide AdMervyn Ferris of the Ballymoney branch of Cancer Research encouraged everyone to come out and support the event.
The first 50 people who turn up on the night with a minimum of £20 will receive free T-shirts.
Mr Ferris commented: “We get good backing from those attached to the various sporting clubs in the area as well as from ordinary family members and for that we are very grateful.”
