£50 million new-build contract for Ballymena welcomed by Swann
North Antrim Ulster Unionist Robin Swann has believes that the contract announcement ‘will greatly assist with boosting the hard-hit economy across the constituency.’
Assemblyman Swann was speaking to the Times after it emerged that the Stormont Department of the Economy had announced the contract, which is valued at between £45 million and £50 million and is expected to start in March 2019 with completion by March 2021.

Hide AdMr Swann added: “This will be money well spent, not just for the local economy in Ballymena, but for the entire North Antrim constituency.
“Given the severe job losses which have hit the constituency in recent years, this new campus can provide an excellent foundation for retraining, up-skilling and developing new skills for the region.
“If the town and wider area is to recover from the job losses, we must ensure that the workforce is properly equipped and trained if we are to attract new employment to the constituency. This new campus will certainly be to the forefront in this economic regeneration process,” said Assemblyman Swann.
