The Macular Society event at Altnagelvin
On Tuesday, September 25, from 1.30pm, and Friday, September 28 from 9am, the charity will have a stall at the hospital in Glenshane Road to offer information about macular disease and reinforce to visitors how vital it is to take good care of their eyes.
The event is one of many taking place all over the UK as part of National Eye Health Week, which runs from September 24-30. Held each year, National Eye Health Week aims to promote the importance of eye health and the need for regular sight tests for all.

“It’s also essential that we remind people just how important it is to look after their eyes and get them tested regularly. A simple test can detect any number of sight problems before they become a serious issue. “
The Londonderry Macular Support Group meets on the second Thursday of the month, from 11am-12.30pm, at the Sensory Support Centre, Glendermott Road, Waterside.
