Join Baako’s ‘birthday bash’ at Belfast Zoo
You can go along and join in the fun with a range of activities including feeding times, keeper talks, face painting, bouncy castle and you can also watch Baako and the troop open their special birthday surprises!
Zoo curator, Julie Mansell, said: “We are all delighted to be celebrating this important milestone with little Baako. He is incredibly special to the whole team as he was the first gorilla to be born at Belfast Zoo in 16 years.

so Baako really is our little miracle! We have all enjoyed watching Baako develop over the last year and now there is double the fun in the gorilla house with the arrival of baby, Kibibi.
“Watching them develop together, over the next few years, will be enjoyable and exciting for both staff and visitors alike.”
