VIDEO: Coleraine teenager all set for Macbeth at the Lyric
Northern Irish teens Kirstyn Kearney, a pupil of Dominican College and Shannon Cooley, from Belfast, have joined a cast of 40 young drawn from all over the UK for a musical theatre performance of Macbeth at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast.
Produced by Youth Music Theatre UK (YMT), the UK’s leading theatre company for young people, this production of Macbeth, perhaps Shakespeare’s best-known play, transports the troubled king from his Scottish roots to a nameless Asian state, and features thrilling dubstep score by Northern Irish composer Garth McConaghie, combined with live classical instrumentation and contemporary choreography.
