Tickets now on sale for Les Miserables
Following the massive success of The Phantom of the Opera which MADS performed in September last year, the local drama group had to follow this up with a big musical this summer.
They have chosen Les Miserables School Edition which is performed by students age 19 and under.

Hide AdAll the parts have been selected after an intense audition process and the cast of over 80 are rehearsing all summer to make sure the show is performed to a very high standard associated with MADS.
Les Miserables School Edition will be performed in Portadown Town Hall Theatre seven times in September. It opens on Wednesday, September 10 and closes on Sunday, September 14.
A spokesperson for the group said: “We are absolutely delighted to performing Les Miserables School Edition again and its the perfect show to follow on from The Phantom of the Opera. We have a very talented and experienced cast for this show and we are delighted that the audition process has uncovered new talent for the drama society.
Jack Watson will perform at Jean Valjean and Ethan Lawlor will star as Javert, both these guys where principal characters in Phantom.

Hide AdWhen you add in Blanthnaid McCaughley, Holly McConville, Erin Tennyson, Adam Gracey, Ethan Haddock, Cuan Host Blaney, Charlotte McClelland, Nicola Harrison, Dairine McCaughley, Amy McConville, Courtney Harbinson, MIchaela McConville, Patrick Moore, Michael Morrow, Niall Conway, Ellen Creaney and Orlagh Shanks, all members of MADS who have performed as principals in many of MADS shows, then we as a production team believe this is our strongest cast yet to perform Les MIserables.
“We also have five very talented young girls who will share the part of the young Cosette. These include Kirsten Ferguson and Zara Freeburn from Portadown, Lurgan girls Adrienne Devlin and Orla McDowell and Leagh Kerr from Kinnego.”
Tickets are now on sale from Print Business Supplies, Lurgan, Greene’s Nisa Local, Brownlow Shopping Centre, Winnie’s Newsagents, Woodhouse Street, Portadown, Sinead’s Florist, Unit G Mayfair Business Centre, Portadown and Moyraverty Centre Craigavon (only on Saturdays from 9.30pm to 1.30pm).
It’s a busy time for the drama society as MADS kids drama also starts back this Saturday (August 2) at the Moyraverty Centre for children who will be in Primary One to Primary Five in September.

Hide AdThis session will be from 9.15am to 11.15am and for anyone in Primary Six to fourth year in secondary school the sessions starts at 11.15am to 1.15pm.
