Butterfly expert at Garden Club
After pointing out the differences between butterflies and moths Catherine described, with the aid of slides, the common or ‘Wider Countryside’ butterflies and moths which are the species most likely to be encountered in our area.
She then progressed to list the rarer or ‘Specialist’ butterflies and moths which are much more restricted to a particular food plant and habitat. Following a question time members were given a copy of a beautifully illustrated colour guide to the butterflies and moths of the Causeway Coast and Glens.
